January - Member Meeting
Go With the Flow: A Watercolor Presentation
Four members of the AAA watercolor group presented their approach to this fluid, transparent and dynamic medium, highlighting different techniques and styles. Topics ranged from painting in a series to negative painting and painting combined with ink work.
February - Valentine’s Day Exchange
Hidden inside bright hand-decorated bags, a surprise valentine awaited each member artist who participated in the annual AAA Valentines exchange. Each valentine exchanged was a small work of art contributed by a participating member.
March - Mattawoman Creek Art Center Show
Following our tradition of recent years, AAA held a month-long, wide-ranging show at the beautiful Mattawoman Creek Art Center Gallery in Smallwood State Park. Sixteen artist members showed works ranging from sculpture to ceramic art to paintings.
May- Moyaone May Day
With the help of AAA members, comers of all ages tried their hand at collage and painting at the AAA table.
June - Plein Air Paint Out
Led by local award-winning artist Daniel Wise, AAA artists captured scenes at the National Colonial Farm and shared their work in a group critique.
August- National Night Out
AAA ran a successful and fun face-painting booth at Accokeek’s National Night Out, an annual event that draws many area families.
August- Artful Flowers Workshop
AAA member and floral designer Patrick Heydt shared works from his stunning professional portfolio and led participants in making artful floral arrangements to take home.
September - La Plata Farmers Market

October - Nature Journaling
Stepping out into the great outdoors at Accokeek Creek in Piscataway Park, participants captured a slice of nature in sketches and words through this introduction to nature journaling.
November - Winter Market
The annual AAA Winter Market was a huge success, featuring works by members ranging from paintings and handmade art cards and bookmarks to ceramics, sculpture, woodcraft, and glasswork. Another highlight was the silent auction, which helped raise funds for AAA to further its mission
