ARTWORK 1 :

Title - 1: Girl With Hawk Feather

Medium - 1: ceramic

Price - 1: $125

Relevance to theme - 1: Land as muse theme makes me think of my home in Accokeek, Maryland. As we celebrate Maryland 250, with this sculpture, I wanted to invoke the memory of the indigenous people who occupied this area for thousands of years.

ARTWORK 2:

Title - 2: Potomac Sunset

Medium - 2: Acrylic

Price - 2: $155

Relevance to theme - 2: Thanks to the creation of Piscataway Park there is a wonderful spot along the river in Maryland where the Potomac River is accessible and ‘land as muse’ can actively inspire. It is particularly beautiful at sunset.

ARTWORK 3:

Title - 3: Raccoon with Pawpaw

Medium - 3: ceramic

Price - 3: $125

Relevance to theme - 3: I interpret the land as muse theme to include all the fauna associated with the land. Raccoon footprints are often seen along the Potomac shoreline, and he is eating a pawpaw because in Maryland it is an abundantly available native fruit.

ARTWORK 4:

Title - 4: Barred Owl

Medium - 4: Ceramic

Price - 4: $95

Relevance to theme - 4: I interpret the land as muse theme to include all the fauna associated with the land. The owl is a barred owl whose “who cooks for you – who cooks for you all” call is heard with great frequency in the Maryland woods.

ARTWORK 5:

Title - 5: Six Butterflies, 2 Bees, a Ladybug and a Caterpillar

Medium - 5: Acrylic

Price - 5: $225

Relevance to theme - 5: Land As Muse can conjure up the idea of appreciation for a broad vista, but here I was inspired by the flora and insect life that is found upon close inspection of the land, in this case, during late summer in Maryland.
